We would like to invite applications for the post of Clinical/Counselling Psychologist.
We are looking for an enthusiastic psychologist with good experience working in mental health services to join the multi-disciplinary team for our national specialist service for adults with eating disorders at the Bethlem Royal Hospital. DPsych Clinical trainees who are in the final stages of completing their doctorate would be considered for this job provided they anticipate completion. However, special transitional arrangements will be put in place, if proof of qualification and HCPC registration have not been received by the start date, and provided all clinical placements have been passed.
This service is based at the Bethlem hospital Specialist Eating disorders Adult ward. This is a service for adult female patients (age 18 and above), treatment is based on psychological therapies and a carefully tailored re-feeding programme. The ward is an 18 bedded unit where individuals are offered treatment for a period of 6 to 8 weeks. We use a multi-disciplinary team (MDT) approach to treatment. We are a national service and provide treatment for both local and national patients.
Clinical/counselling psychologist is an important part of the MDT; the post holder will be expected to meet with patients to assess and formulate their delivery of care. The Service offers a range of therapeutic interventions for patients with an eating disorder & their carer's, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Cognitive Remediation Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Emotion Skills training, Family work.
We provide a group programme for short admissions and support the MDT with managing complex cases.
We offer excellent opportunity for professional and clinical development both within the trust and Eating disorder service. Professional supervision
is provided and successful candidate will have access to a large team based alongside the service for support and development opportunities.
The successful candidate must be able to start immediately pending pre-employment checks. The position is full-time contract in the inpatient eating disorders ward at the Bethlem Royal hospital (Tyson West Two).
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
