This post offers an exciting opportunity to work in the Forensic Intensive Psychological Treatment Service (FIPTS), a well-established, innovative service for offenders with personality disorder in SLaM.

This full-time position is on Waddon Ward, River House, a medium secure service in South London. Waddon Ward provides assessment and treatment for 15 adult men with severe personality disorder from London and the South, who have committed serious offences and continue to pose a high risk to others. The clinical model is an integrated modular approach centred on the Violence Reduction Programme and incorporating other evidence based treatments for specific personality difficulties and offence types, including sexual offending. There is also an extensive programme of art therapy, education and other occupational therapies, both on the ward and in the wider Bethlem Royal Hospital site. Meaningful service user involvement is central to the approach to care and treatment in the service, as evidenced by our recent Enabling Environments Award.

The successful candidate will work closely with the senior clinicians in the team to support the development of the service. There are opportunities to provide both individual and group work.

The Behavioural and Developmental CAG brings together a unique combination of adult psychiatric specialities including forensic services for people with mental illness and a history of serious offences, prison health and specialist mental health services for those with neurodevelopmental disorders including learning disabilities, autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and adult attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
