We are looking to recruit passionate and motivated qualified nurses to join Acorn Lodge Children’s and Snowfields Adolesecent Unit. Acorn Lodge is a 10 bed children’s unit set within the grounds of the Bethlem Royal Hospital and has modern facilities and picturesque surroundings. Snowfields Adolescent Unit is a 11 bed children's unit based at Maudsley Hospital.

SLaM has the largest and most specialised CAMHS services in the country and is on the forefront of personalised support for young people and children. We want to hire nurses who have a real understanding for the needs of the CAMHS group who can bring innovation and change to our service. We see this service as a genuine specialism and are offering the opportunity to be part of it.

As part of our strong team, you'll have the scope to share ideas and follow them through into innovative practice alongside the multidisciplinary team which consists of Doctors, Clinical Psychologist, Systematic family Therapist and Occupational Therapist to engage with young people and their families. Additionally there is an “Outstanding” on site education provision.

You will have the opportunity to become a specialist in CAMHS as we offer excellent learning and development opportunities. Our preceptorship and mentoring schemes mean you will be partnered with like-minded individuals who will be dedicated to your development.

You must be a qualified RMN, LD or Children’s Nurse or in the final year of your RMN/LD course, qualifying in 3 months. It’s important that you have an understanding of multidisciplinary services and the challenges that face children with mental health difficulties. If you are passionate about mental health, believe in our recovery approach and who can act as an advocate for the reduction of stigma in our community then this is the role for you.

You must have an excellent understanding of safeguarding and how to work within professional boundaries. Working at Acorn Lodge is challenging, stimulating and diverse. We believe that we can offer you something different from other Trusts if you are interested in a role please apply.

If successful at shortlisting stage you will be invited to an assessment on the Friday, 8th December 2017 at the ORTUS learning and events centre.

**Please note that if you do not state the month and year that you have completed your Nursing qualification you will not be invited to the assessment.**
