Title: Borough Tutor (Croydon/Bethlem Royal Hospital
Reporting to: Director of Postgraduate Psychiatric Training (SLaM)
Accountability: Director of Postgraduate Psychiatric Training
Responsible for: Postgraduate Medical Education Leadership Croydon
Purpose of Role
South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, along with Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, is the local education provider for the Maudsley Training Programme. Borough Tutors (BT) are crucial to the effective management of trainees within the programme.
The BT will work with Dr Gopinath Ranjith, Director of Postgraduate Psychiatric Training at SLaM (DPPT) and the TPDs, other tutors, consultant trainers and trainees to ensure equality of opportunity, good quality care, patient focus and excellence in training.
The BT is expected to undertake CPD relevant to their role as educator, leader and manager of training.
The BT will work closely with SLaM Postgraduate Medical Education Department especially around the “local teaching” and local site inductions for trainees.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
