We are pleased to be able to offer the opportunity for an enthusiastic clinician to become part of a newly developed crisis team within Croydon CAMHS. This is a unique opportunity for practitioners to join an enthusiastic, forward-thinking team and to really make a difference to the young people within the borough. These posts are part of the exciting transformation of Croydon CAMHS services and provide candidates with the opportunity to gain experience of service development. Croydon CAMHS is part of South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust, the most comprehensive Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service in the country. This post is within a committed, innovative and enthusiastic Tier 3 multidisciplinary CAMHS team.
Croydon CAMHS is seeking CAMHS practitioners to join our multidisciplinary mental health team. The post holders will provide crisis assessments to children & young people in Croydon as well as providing brief intensive interventions. The posts also involve interagency liaison with local A&E and paediatric wards as well as with social care and other agencies, as needed. The team provide an extended hours service on a rota basis until 10pm weekdays and 9-5 saturdays
The successful applicants will have either experience of working with Children and Young People with moderate to severe mental health or neuropsychiatric difficulties or transferable skills in the assessment of people in mental health crisis and hold current professional registration. The post holders will provide comprehensive assessment and evidence based treatment to children and young people with a range of mental health difficulties particularly those experiencing psychiatric crisis. This band 6 post offers a structured pathway for clinicians to progress to a band 7 position within the team.
