An exciting opportunity has arisen for a band 7 High Intensity Therapist/clinical psychologist/counselling psychologist to join the SLaM Croydon IAPT service. You would be joining an existing team of clinical psychologists, CBT therapists, psychological well-being practioners and assistant psychologists.The postholder will provide a specialist psychological therapy service to clients of Croydon IAPT. This will include specialist assessment, and treatment (mainly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy), planning, implementation monitoring of outcomes on a weekly basis. To see IAPT clients and also clients with more complex presentations.

This post is a busy one, a clinical post with targets for activity and recovery and a high caseload. It may require in future to provide clinical supervision to High Intensity trainees and Psychological Wellbeing Practitioners, and consultation, as appropriate. The post requires working one evening a week as a shifted day i.e. 11:30-7:30pm on a regular evening each week and, on occasional Saturday work.

Professional development is strongly supported, and the post-holder will benefit from the extensive South London and Maudsley CPD opportunities.

DPsych Clinical trainees who are in the final stages of completing their doctorate and who have a strong background in CBT would be considered for this job provided they anticipate completion. However, special transitional arrangements will be put in place, if proof of qualification and HCPC registration have not been received by the start date, and provided all clinical placements have been passed.
