An excellent opportunity has arisen for a motivated Occupational Therapist who would like to further develop their leaderships skills in a small and fast paced intervention team in the London Borough of Croydon .The Croydon Reablement Team is part of Psychological Medicine Integrated Care (PMIC) Clinical Academic Group at SLAM.

The team leader role entails working with people with early signs of mental distress and social issues, as well as people in recovery from long term mental health issues. Interventions are very practical and will include working in partnership with other Croydon providers including but not limited to housing, education, social care and MARAC to resolve issues quickly whilst building resilience with service users to help them manage future difficulties.

The applicants will need to have skills in supervising and appraising and in turn will gain experience in networking , analysing and presenting the teams outcome data to internal and external agencies e.g. Clinical Commissioning Groups. The team works closely with the Croydon IAPT service and the Croydon Assessment & Liaison team.

This post requires an innovative person with excellent communication skills, an interest in improving standards of care and experience of working with multi-professional teams and carers. You will receive supervision and support from the Head of Pathways and Professional Lead OT in the PMIC CAG.

We are looking for someone with the vision and aspiration to build on the teams strengths and continue to lead the team in maintaining clinical excellence.

This is a diverse role mainly based at Jeannette Wallace House, however the successful applicant will be expected to travel around the borough as well as to the Maudsley Hospital for meetings / training. Therefore you will need to be organised, flexible and driven. You must have a genuine commitment to improving mental health services for adults, an ability to support staff teams under pressure, and the capacity for innovation.
