Clinical/ Counselling Psychologist
Croydon Integrated Psychological Therapies Services
We are looking for a Clinical or Counselling Psychologist (Band 7) to work alongside other members of a large, well-established secondary care Psychological Therapies team.
CIPTS provides assessment, consultation and psychological therapy for adults with complex mental health difficulties across the Borough of Croydon. CIPTS comprises a dedicated and well-established team of Clinical and Counselling Psychologists and Psychotherapists in CAT and Psychodynamic Psychotherapy. The service is committed to implementing NICE Guidelines and ensuring evidence-based practice but there is also an appreciation of the value of a range of psychotherapeutic models with a complex client group.
This post will focus primarily on providing psychological assessment and CBT treatment to people with complex depression and/or anxiety disordered presentations where there is co-morbidity, treatment resistance or associated personality and interpersonal difficulties. A significant proportion of our referrals are for Complex PTSD (including refugees and asylum seekers), as well as Complex Trauma presentations, and as such the post holder will be expected to see a number of such individuals for assessment and treatment as a dedicated part of their caseload.
Being part of the South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust means there is access to a wide range of CPD opportunities and all staff are encouraged to undertake development opportunities and activities relevant to their post.
CIPTS is based at Jeanette Wallace House in Central Croydon, with the benefit of excellent transport links, shops and other local amenities nearby. Individual sessions are provided at this base and also at a range of other venues throughout Croydon.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
