We are looking to recruit a Lambeth CAMHS AIM Specialist Practitioner who has the energy, drive and enthusiasm to spearhead the AIM pathway in Lambeth providing support both within Lambeth CAMHS and to the wider network.

The Lambeth CAMHS AIM Service provides both assessment and intervention for young people who display harmful sexual behaviour. The AIM Service is based within YOS CAMHS and has strong links with Lambeth Children’s Social Care. The role is 50% clinical and 50% coordination of the service and service development.

The clinical aspect of the role involves completing structured AIM2 assessments to provide estimates of risk and develop formulation to guide interventions intended to prevent further harmful sexual behaviour. Assessment and intervention is multi-agency and requires a strong focus on engaging families. A detailed understanding of trauma and its impact on mental health and functioning is essential.

The coordination and service development aspect of the role involves consulting with social care, health, education, CAMHS, YOS and police to promote understanding and management of harmful sexual behaviour whilst promoting the AIM Service across these agencies. In addition, the post-holder is required to screen and make recommendations for referrals to the service, and provide support to other professionals in working with harmful sexual behaviour.
