We are seeking a part-time (0.8 FTE) Band 7 Clinical or Counselling Psychologist who is interested in working in the London borough of Lambeth with individuals who have experienced episodes of severe mental illness and psychosis. The clinical presentation is often complex and requires innovative and flexible approaches to psychological care in collaboration with the multi-professional team and clinical partners.
Lambeth has been very progressive and innovative in their approach to working with mentally ill service users. There is emphasis on working creatively and collaboratively with the service user in the community to live as well as possible. There is a focus on preventing hospitalisation whenever possible. There is a strong emphasis on service user empowerment, collaboration and personalisation. Family interventions are encouraged whenever possible.
This is a permanent post. This is a unique opportunity for clinicians who are interested in psychiatric rehabilitation, cutting edge clinical practice, the recovery approach to care, and working with complex clinical cases.
