South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust are looking to recruit a number of innovate and caring Band 5 Nurses to work in a specialist rehabilitation service in South London. The team is based at Heather Close believe that service users have the potential for growth and development if they are provided with a safe place in which they feel secure, valued, respected and empowered. Our main goal is to develop a relationship of trust and respect with our services users by providing a service which is individual and unique to each person.
Heather Close is based in Lewisham and supports 33 services users experiencing enduring and challenging mental health issues that continue to require high support and multi-disciplinary expertise to be assisted to live out of hospital in their local community, as part of their on-going recovery. The team is friendly, multi-cultural group consisting of both qualified and unqualified staff. Each member of the team fulfils an important role without which the team could not function properly. Within the team there is a wealth of diversity and experiences. We believe in open and honest communication and encourage staff to ask questions and express their views and opinions.
There is a wide range of experiences available to all staff working in this exciting and positive service. There are excellent opportunities for professional development and support.
You must be a qualified RMN or in the final year of your course. It is important that you have an understanding if multidisciplinary services and the challenges that face people with mental health problems. We are looking for nurses who have a genuine passion for mental health, who in our believe in recovery model and who will act as advocates for the reduction of stigma in our community. You must have an excellent understanding of safeguarding and how to work within professional boundaries.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
