An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Nurse Practice Development Nurse (PDN) Aubrey Lewis 3 Ward at the Maudsley Hospital. Aubrey Lewis 3 Ward is a 19 bedded male acute ward. Aubrey Lewis 3 Ward has a progressive, motivated and highly experienced team who are keen to support new staff.

The suitable candidate will be motivated and forward thinking, with a “can do” attitude. An experienced RMN who is enthusiastic about working with people with complex mental illness and who is able to demonstrate a real commitment to providing high quality and compassionate care. Working as part of a multi–disciplinary team you will have excellent communication skills and team working abilities. A key role of the Practice Development Nurse is to lead by example and be a role model for the nursing team. We are looking for an individual who is able to support junior staff and students in their professional development, through excellent and effective clinical leadership and sharing of knowledge.

The practice Development Nurse will work closely with the Ward Manager, Modern Matron and Clinical Nurse Specialist to promote effective leadership and support for patients, carers and all members of the team.
