We are looking to recruit minimum of two driven and passionate Charge Nurse to join the management team on Eden PICU. Eden is a 10 bedded male PICU based in Lambeth hospital. Our PICU supports and cares for some of the most vulnerable service users from our community and offers a highly challenging environment within a fast paced and diverse work setting.
PICU is an exciting service to be part of. we work within specialist multi-disciplinary team, delivering high quality, intensive care to patients experiencing acute mental illness. We want our nurses to learn and develop their skills, including working with and supporting clients with severe mental illness and widely varying, complex needs, risk assessment and risk management.
Adults in crisis are admitted to the ward and are supported by a large team of nurses, doctors, health care assistants, occupational therapists and psychiatrists. There is a wide remit for a nursing role within PICU which requires networking and collaborating with numerous internal and external stakeholders.
There is a high level of opportunity to develop as a band 6 nurse, we offer additional training that is specialised to our service giving you risk assessment and risk management skills which are invaluable in the mental health profession.
There is also the opportunity to work across the other PICU sites in order to gain further experience of working in different areas and meeting staff from the other teams. We are planning to hold a PICU B6 away which will bring all band 6 nurses across the PICU service together to meet and learn from other wards and to develop best practice.
We are looking for a Clinical Charge Nurse who is motivated and forward thinking, with a "can do" attitude to join the multidisciplinary and management team at the Eden Unit.
We are looking for an experienced RMN who is enthusiastic about working with adults and who is able to demonstrate a real commitment to providing high quality and compassionate care to people and their families. Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team you will have excellent communication skills and team working abilities.
A key role of the Clinical Charge Nurse is to lead by example and be a role-model for the nursing team. We are looking for an individual who is able to support junior staff in their professional development, through excellent and effective clinical leadership, mentoring and sharing of knowledge.
You will work closely with the Ward Manager to ensure that the unit maintains the highest standards of care provision and safe levels of staffing. You will also have a role in all aspects of service development and improvement. In return for your commitment you will receive excellent training, professional development and supervision.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
