Lambeth IPSA Occupational Therapist (Rehabilitation)
This post sits within the Lambeth IPSA (Integrated Personalised Support Alliance) and offers unique opportunities to work innovatively in mental health rehabilitation in community, supported living settings.
The IPSA is a unique, dynamic partnership between SLAM, Lambeth CCG, Lambeth Social Care, and two voluntary sector organisations, Certitude and Thamesreach, to deliver support services and opportunities for more independent living, with a strong focus on personalisation and recovery to achieve these aims for the people supported:-
- To recover and stay well
- To make own choices
- To participate on an equal footing in daily life
The postholder will be working with adults (age 18-65) and be based across two supported living schemes in Lambeth managed by one of the IPSA partners, Certitude (Certitude provides accommodation and personalised support for people with mental health needs and learning disabilities). The two schemes are Turrets and Lancaster Ave.
The Turrets is a rehab supported living setting which provides highly personalised support aimed at helping people to recover, stay well, and successfully bridge to more independent living, following a period of receiving intense support. The Turrets has multi-professional team, including a psychologist, OT and Consultant Psychiatrist sessions.
Lancaster avenue is a female-only supported living service aiming to assist people, for up to 5 years, to develop the skills and confidence to make the transition to more independent living following a stay in registered residential/rehab services. Lancaster Avenue is a supported living scheme, promoting recovery through the development of effective formal and informal support networks and active participation in local community activities and resources, including education, training and employment opportunities.
The successful candidate will need to work as an autonomous practitioner providing support to people in both housing schemes, alongside Certitude support staff and with input from health colleagues. The role will involve planning, implementing and evaluating interventions. It will also include providing specific functional assessments. The role will have a key focus on supporting people to work with their assets and strengths to re-motivate and re-able them to live more independently.
