National and Specialist CAMHS are seeking to recruit a full-time Consultant Clinical Psychologist to join the OCD, BDD and related disorders team on a permanent basis. The post is based at the Michael Rutter Centre for Children and Young People, Maudsley Hospital. The service provides specialist assessment and treatment for children with OCD, BDD, and related disorders. The treatment is evidence-based cognitive-behaviour therapy offered in a variety of formats and intensities. Research is strongly supported as part of the multi-disciplinary team approach.
This exciting new post has been created to develop and lead (on) the work the team are doing with Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD). Following the world’s first RCT assessing the efficacy of treatment for adolescents with BDD, referrals to the team for this disorder are increasing, and there is a need for additional psychology leadership to take this part of the service forward.
The post-holder will work closely with the other two team consultants, a Consultant Psychologist and Consultant Psychiatrist, and other senior and experienced Clinical Psychologists on the team. The team also includes trainees from a variety of disciplines. As well as leading on BDD service development, the post-holder will share in the leadership of the team more broadly, working in all aspects of the service, clinical, research and service development. They will carry their own caseload and supervise and manage other psychologists in the team, including Assistant Psychologists and Trainee Clinical Psychologists.
The successful candidate will be asked to apply for an Enhanced Disclosure.
The proposed interview date is Wednesday 13th December 2017
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
