South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust (SLaM) provide the widest range of NHS mental health services in the UK as well as substance misuse services for people who are addicted to drugs and alcohol. We work closely with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience (IoPPN), King's College London and are part of King's Health Partners Academic Health Sciences Centre. There are very few organisations in the world that have such wide-ranging capabilities working with mental illness. Our scope is unique because it is built on three major foundations: care and treatment, science and research, and training. We employ around 5,000 people across South London and other sites in the UK.
This is an exciting new opportunity for a nurse manager with research experience to make a real difference in helping to the deliver the Trust’s research programmes as well as facilitating opportunities for our nurses to develop as research-active clinicians.
The role will link with clinical, research and managerial staff within both the Trust and our main academic partner, the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IOPPN) at King’s College London.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
- Clinical research experience and familiarity with the structure and organisation of clinical services within the NHS, as well as supervisory experience;
- An understanding of research processes and terminology, including being able to understand and follow research protocols, clinical interventions and procedures involved;
- Excellent leadership and communication skills, competent IT skills, able to use initiative, prioritise and manage workload
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
