Southwark Forensic Community Team is managed by the Behavioural and Developmental Psychiatry Clinical Academic Group within South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust.

Are you looking for the opportunity to work creatively to meet the complex and diverse needs of service users diagnosed with mental illness? Do you enjoy working in a multi-cultural community and value diversity and social inclusion?

We are currently looking for an experienced and enthusiastic community practitioner to work as part of a multi-professional team. The post holder requires excellent qualities in risk / assessment skills and needs to have an interest in / developing the skills of the multi professional team, whilst contributing to the overall aims and values.

The role includes leading and supporting the leadership of a team of professional staff in the delivery of high quality evidence-based practice. To manage some administrative and operational resources in a cost-effective manner, evaluating the standard of service delivered. To co-ordinate multidisciplinary working, maintaining excellent communication and working relationships with all team members, and other services within SlaM and primary care as appropriate to the service. To liaise effectively across the borough of Southwark and other SLAM services.  The post holder will carry a small caseload. 

The post is full-time, and you would be working in a highly-motivated community multi-professional team. There will be opportunities and support for continuing professional development and to actively participate in research and audit.
