This is an excellent opportunity to work in what will be a newly developed borough based unit, alongside other senior nursing colleagues and the head of pathway to produce high quality clinical and operational inpatient care in the borough of Lambeth.
The post holder will need to have excellent clinical skills and a good record of leading on change and developing services within a quickly changing environment. The post holder will also have a role in the management of patient flow and will be expected to participate in the boroughs bed management processes. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate effective inter-team working, advanced communication and problem solving skills; essential for the success of a borough based working model.
The South London and Maudsley NHS Foundation Trust provides a full range of mental health services to the people of Lewisham, Lambeth, Southwark and Croydon. Lambeth borough is one of 6 newly developed operational units that include services from across different pathways including Acute, Community, Community Forensics and Drug and Alcohol services.
The key aim of the acute care pathway is to support transition of patients through the assessment and treatment phase of an acute inpatient episode in order to support discharge and recovery. In Lambeth, there are 4 18 bedded acute wards (2 male and 2 female) plus 1 male Psychiatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU), and the postholder will provide input to all these services and working with community and other partners to ensure effective treatment and smooth transitions of care.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
